CLARITY THAT GOES THROUGH THE TRANSPARENCIES
THAT SUM UP A NEW PURITY

Hypnotic slow dancing rhythms, those that could make it difficult to walk if you listen to them on your Walkman. Distant choruses, from beyond the grave. A melancholic world is created and a worn out acoustic guitar sounds almost cheerful. Smooth music, warm enough to invite you to relax, take a break and have a drink while listening to it.
“Sing” recording sessions were done live directly to 2-track stereo tape, to capture the vibrant atmosphere the band used to create in concert. The reason for giving birth to this project was the need Madrid felt to write songs that could be sung by a bonfire without losing their essence while playing a stripped down version without arrangements; simple songs, straight to the point, with memorable choruses, of heartbreaking beauty.
The influences that gave some light to this EP were singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed o Tom Waits; but Madrid remembers that by that time he´d also bought an album by Pulp and another one by R.E.M. and that he listened to both of them intensely.
Recorded and produced at El Quinto, every Saturday afternoon of October and November 1999, by Gustavo Madrid and Omar Scavone; in collaboration with: Jorge Almejún, Alejandra Carlucci, Ernesto Castro, Gabriela Luis, Marcelo Pérez and Gabriel Mateos.
